Mission, Vision & Purpose
Mission Statement
The Mission of the Davenport Christian School is to partner with Christ to produce highly-educated God-loving people who will use all of their talents for the glory of God and for the advancement of His kingdom.
Purpose Statement
The purpose of the Davenport Christian School (DCS) is to promote a high-quality kindergarten through High School education from a strong Christian world-view. This education should equip the student to enter into a high-quality secondary education experience or to pursue other interests with a strong educational background.
The organization is designed as a resource for those parents with whom we share common Christian values and who will support our educational mission of providing a strong biblically based curriculum and learning environment. Our board is composed of those who are of like faith and our leadership team and staff have a clear Christian testimony, lifestyle and attitude.
As we believe in the clear Bible teaching that it is a parent’s responsibility to educate their children, it is important that the school and the families of the students are properly aligned in the faith. DCS is a society of believers in a Wesleyan-Arminian tradition. It is important for those families who wish to participate with us in education to support our strong beliefs of salvation from sin and holiness in heart and life. As educators, we will do everything in our power to encourage and nurture a strong relationship with every child and the holy scriptures. We will encourage all to whole-heartedly follow Christ in casting off worldly appeal and attitudes and to take up our cross and follow Him.
By enrolling a student at DCS, the parent recognizes and embraces a partnership between the school and the parent in cooperatively educating the students. This partnership will enable a joint-effort of leading the student in the paths of righteousness, not excusing what the Bible defines as sinful behavior and taking every opportunity to lead the students in paths of righteousness.
Vision Statement
Our vision is to encourage and enable students to answer the call in response to the prayer of Christ to send more laborers into the harvest who will seek to minister and not to be ministered to, who will lead the way in charity, kindness, mercy, peace and truth.
This is to be done by:
Providing a loving community of teachers and learners
Exuding Christian behaviors and attitudes that will lead students in the ways of righteousness
Discovering and developing talents and abilities in students for the glory of God
Celebrating the unique gifts and abilities that have been given to each student by God
It is the soul of this ministry to produce godly servant-leaders who will be strong influencers in the home, the church, society and the world.
